Vanguard has been selected by Keep Waco Beautiful as the site of its official Arbor Day celebration at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 21. In a formal ceremony including Waco Mayor Jim Bush, we will plant a 30-gallon live oak tree in front of Bostick Hall. The ceremony will include a gold shovel ceremony along with presentations by the Texas Forestry Service and Vanguard’ Environmental Awareness Club. The Daughters of the American Revolution donated the money for the tree. We will be on a Wonderful Wednesday schedule, and all students will be actively involved in the ceremony. We encourage parents and friends to join in the celebration!
