Two teams of enthusiastic music makers waged ecoustical war against each other during class Friday, Sept. 3, in hopes of winning votes from passersby serving as judges.

Dragon Lady band included Rico Concepcion, Alexandra Deaver, Reese Thompson, JR Ahlers, Maria Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth Powell.

Marcus Johnson Project included Barret Robinson, Evan Paul, Billy Shank, Colton Treadwell, Garrett Faulkenberry, Katherine Howard and Mykala Prado.

Cupid Shuffle rang out through the Jaworski Center as each band performed, but judges found it impossible to make a choice. In the end, both bands combined for a rendition of Sweet Home Alabama that brought on a standing ovation. Though the performance was casual and impromptu, it is clear that music director Stephen Dansby has breathed new life into the music program with this first performance.
