Surrounded by the entire student body on Wed., Dec. 8, senior Ian Lovett signed a letter of intent to play golf for Bellhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. A 3-time state championship team golfer, Lovett received a golf and academic scholarship offer.

Students, faculty and staff sat at attention on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 11. The Wonderful Wednesday assembly was complete with presentation of the colors by Boy Scouts and a full house reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Mr. Paul Marable, an officer in World War II, told his story of being captured and subsequently imprisoned in a German POW camp. As Mr. Marable described his battlefield experiences, the Vanguard family listened attentively to a lesson demonstration rigor, respect, and responsibility.
A cast of comical characters, six dedicated faculty members,and an auditorium filled with spectators. The combination made for two successful performances of “Laughing Stock” on Nov. 6 and 7 in the Jeannette Jaworski Center on campus.
A New England summer stock barn theater sets the stage for Charles Morey’s light-hearted farce in a sentimental story about the bonds that form among actors in a production. Comedy ensues as The Playhouse, a rustic New England summer theater, begins a repertory season of Dracula, Hamlet, and Charley’s Aunt.
Energetic acting and creative direction sent the audience into round after round of laughter throughout the play. Two thumbs up for the Drama Club in its first play of the 2010-2011 season.
