Vanguard Class of 2019

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VANGUARD?

I enjoy walking on campus and in the classes feeling welcomed. Vanguard has an amazing faulty and staff that will sit down with you to ensure you understand your lesson. They also go to the extremes to make sure each student is mentally ready for class and life skills. Support staff make sure the grounds and hallways are cleaned, while making sure our lockers are fixed.

DO YOU BELIEVE VANGUARD IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS IN WACO?

Vanguard is totally different from other schools. Especially on campus, the school is spread out just like a regular college campus. At the end of the day, Vanguard students will have gained valuable experience by going to a school that is modeled after a college. As a Vanguard Student Ambassador, I will continue to show all the great things Vanguard has to offer. Secondly the ability to go off campus during our hour lunch, is always fun.

VANGUARD’S MOTTO IS “RIGOR, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?

The school’s motto means a lot in fact almost everything that I stand for and believe. The “Three R’s” changed my life. They have influenced me to value educations differently. The definition of rigor is the quality or state of being very exact, careful, or strict. The studying was definitely different, I would study but now…I must really study and focus. Respect is key, always respecting others opinions and views. Responsibility is growing and I enjoy taking on the challenges that Vanguard and life has to bring.

Vanguard Class of 2020

What do you like most about Vanguard?

My favorite thing about Vanguard is how the older grades and the younger grades interact. It’s like one big happy family!

Do you believe Vanguard is different from other schools in Waco?

Vanguard is very different! Vanguard is different from other schools because you don’t learn things just to pass a test at the end of the year. The things that are taught can help you your whole life.

Vanguard’s motto is “Rigor, Respect, Responsibility.” What does this mean to you?

To me, Vanguard’s Motto “Rigor, Respect and Responsibility” are three words that perfectly describe the school. Rigor – the work load is pretty big  at Vanguard, which isn’t for everyone, but all of the hard work pays off when the exams are manageable at this school, and in college! Respect in our school, the students not only respect the teachers, the teachers respect the students. Which makes it a congenial environment for learning. Responsibility – because you are being prepped for college, you have many responsibilities. Once you acclimate to the environment (which doesn’t take long) you start to appreciate the freedom that you are rewarded with from your diligent work.

Vanguard Class of 2019

What do you like most about Vanguard?

I love the freedom I experience at Vanguard. I love how you can walk around campus with friends. Through this freedom, I enjoy the responsibility that Vanguard teaches 7th through 12th graders.

Do you believe Vanguard is different from other schools in Waco?

I most definitely believe Vanguard is different from other schools. It’s almost like I’m attending a mini-college while I’m still in middle school. It’s a lot more fun than many of the other schools I’ve gone to and a great friendly environment. I also love not being stuck in one building the whole day. I love enjoying the outdoors at lunch when some of my friends are playing football outside. I would definitely vote for this school to be named one of the best in Central Texas.

Vanguard’s motto is “Rigor, Respect, Responsibility.” What does this mean to you?

Rigor, Respect, and Responsibility are three things that keep me going throughout the day. I love the rigorous classes. Vanguard challenges me in a way that is fun. Respect is highly expected. If you respect your teachers or friends, they respect you back. Responsibility is my favorite of the core values. This plays a big role in my personal character development. When I keep track of my tests, knowing when they are, and keep up with the responsibilities I have, that both demonstrates and grows my responsibility. I have an assignment book that helps me a lot keep track of all my homework, tests, and quizzes coming up. I love this part of our motto at Vanguard, and I absolutely love my school.
