2019 Summer Camps

ACADEMIC AND SPORTS SUMMER CAMPS

Vanguard Summer Camps promote creative learning and are led by the talented Vanguard Faculty. Each camp is one week and the session leaders are specialists in their fields.

Camps are available to children ranging from ages 4 – 12, have a wide range of sports and subjects to choose from, and our Vanguard teachers and counselors are there every step of the way to make the learning fun!

Opportunities to explore the athletics and academics can be found throughout the summer. Careful consideration goes into the planning of the summer camp schedule to ensure a challenging, yet enjoyable experience for all participants.

We take fun and learning seriously! Kids from all schools are encouraged to attend Vanguard camps.

Camps run from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon with a snack provided.

Cost $115 per week per child.

Multiple Sibling and Multiple Camp Discount of $95 per child per camp.

June 3rd - 7th

Vanguard Tennis Coach, Greta Knoll, will be instilling campers with the fundamentals and the love of the game.

Got Rhythm? Interested in playing drums? Click your sticks at the Vanguard Drum Line and Percussion camp! The repertoire will be tiered to level and interest.

June 10th - 14th

We’ll learn color theory, learn about different artists/styles and make our own little versions, explore different age-appropriate mediums, etc and open an “art gallery” at the end of the week.

Location: Jaworski Administration Building

Boys and girls will work on footwork, passing, and developing a stronger position knowledge and game strategy. General soccer terms will be implemented. Competition and game-like situations will be utilized. Campers will be grouped by age and experience to maximize instruction.

Location: Vanguard Gym, Mountainview Park

Want to build towers, airplanes, rockets and more? Then sign up for the Building and Engineering camp at Vanguard! Campers will work in teams and pairs constructing different objects and engaging in problem-solving activities. This camp will teach problem-solving skills, teamwork, and to think outside the box! Great for the little engineer or physicist!

***This camp will be capped at 16 campers

Vanguard Tennis Coach, Greta Knoll, will be instilling campers with the fundamentals and the love of the game.

Campers will be working on writing stories and using words in creative ways to open the imagination and improve storytelling and writing skills.

***This camp is capped at 15 campers

June 17th - 21st

Open to girls and boys, this camp will be an introduction to volleyball fundamentals and skills. Campers will be divided by age and/or skill level to maximize instruction.

Campers will play a variety of games and puzzles that will develop number sense, logic, and problem-solving skills. Come play with us and get your math geek on!

Music is for everyone! This class helps toddlers and young children develop their aural and musical skills by singing, dancing, tapping, and rhyming. Additional activities include some art and story time. Intended for ages 3-6. Parents are welcome (but not required) to participate.

This camp features an introduction to Typing and Technology. This is a great way for kids to have fun with typing and technology through educational games.

July 15th - 19th

Campers will be introduced to multiple forms of media and ways of art making! This camp will focus on skills and techniques through various materials. Your camper will learn basic art-making methods and then expound upon their creations. Our goal is to tap into their creativity to teach them how to make amazing works of art. We may get messy, so dress accordingly!

The Award-Winning Vanguard Robotics Teams will be hosting a fun-filled camp aimed at teaching students about robot design, construction, 3D-Printing, and programming. This will be a great introduction into robotics and a can’t miss camp.

July 22nd - 26th

The love of reading unfolds. Campers will be introduced to many books from many genres. There will be a focus on story elements such as plot, setting, and character development. Campers will share their favorite book at the end of the week!

Helios, the Greek sun God is missing! Join a team of fellow campers to get the word out to the world and hopefully find our lost Titan. Are you up for the challenge to make sure the sun will come out tomorrow?

Google Suite will be utilized for creating and working with internet-based presentations. Project-planning, teamwork, communication skills and more will help campers along the way. Don’t know Google Suite or anything about shared documents? No problem! Come on out for this journey to help find Helios.

Do you like slime, getting messy, and things that go BOOM? If so, then Vanguard Science Camp is for you! Using the Scientific Method, students will perform a multitude of experiments and explore how everyday reactions occur. This camp is back by popular demand and fills up fast – Sign up early!

2019 Summer Camps

Each camp is $115

Attend more than one camp (or more than one child per camp) and the price is $95 per child, per camp.

Camps By Week (You may check multiple camps)

Cost $115 per week per child. Multiple Sibling and Multiple Camp Discount of $95 per child per camp. Camps must have at least 10 campers to make. Some camps will be capped once spaces are filled.

Please note: No nuts will be served for snacks. Please note any and ALL allergies.

The undersigned parent/guardian of the Vanguard camper does hereby release and discharge the curators of Vanguard College Preparatory School and its representatives, employees, and agents from any and all debts, claims, demands, actions, damages, causes of action, judgments, or suits of any kind which may arise or be occasional as a result of the camper’s participation in the Vanguard Summer Camp programs and hereby agree to have and indemnify and hold harmless the curators of Vanguard College Preparatory School, its representatives, employees, and agents against any and all liability, claims, judgments, or demands for damages arising as a result of any course instruction given to the camper.
