Waco’s
Best Private
School
In the face of extraordinary challenges, the Vanguard community has shown amazing resilience, swiftly adapting to provide our students with a safe and healthy return to campus. We need your help to continue meeting these challenges while providing our students with the best learning environment possible.

We need your help to continue meeting these challenges while providing our students with the best learning environment possible.

The Annual Fund, which helps finance the school’s operating expenses each year, has always played a vital role in ensuring the school’s stability and sustainability and is more critical than ever.

This year, we have introduced
Resilience 2020-2021:
An Annual Fund Campaign

Due to the health crisis, Vanguard is facing a number of unanticipated expenses − some one-time and some ongoing − in order to keep our school safe, while allowing for the meaningful programming for which it is known.

The school has invested in a number of crucial items, including new technology, janitorial services, upgrades to facilities and services, personal protective equipment, and enhanced professional development.

THE COST OF EXCELLENCE

Understanding Vanguard’s finances is the first step to understanding its need for philanthropic support. The Annual Fund is the most critical source of immediately available and flexible funds. Gifts to the Annual Fund are crucial to the financial health of the school.

THE COST OF EXCELLENCE

At Vanguard, people matter. A large portion of costs goes toward recruiting and hiring the best faculty for the School, as well as providing financial assistance to bright and talented students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Vanguard. Programs, curriculum, technology, and facilities will change over time, but people remain the greatest investment in our efforts to create a life-changing education.

Why do I continue to support the Annual Fund?

One of the most important reasons to contribute to the Annual Fund is to guarantee the continuation of an outstanding faculty. It was my privilege to teach at Vanguard for ten years. I was always impressed with the expertise, care, and camaraderie demonstrated by each instructor. If you would like to honor a teacher who has impacted your student in years past or present, please consider a gift to the Annual Fund.

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO GIVE

Work with the Vanguard Foundation on Estate Planning gifts to build Vanguard’s endowment for the future.

The Vanguard Foundation was established in 1992 to help ensure Vanguard College Preparatory School’s position as the best private school in Central Texas for decades to come. It does this by awarding scholarships, building an endowment fund, and making occasional loans to the school to cover operating costs and special projects.

The IRA Charitable Rollover Provision is a great year-end giving option. This provision allows individuals who have reached age 70½ to donate up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a public charity. The donor is then able to exclude the direct rollover from taxable income.
