The inaugural season of Vanguard Esports has come to an end. Last night both the Rocket League team and the League of Legends team faced off against the #1 teams in the state but fell short of moving on or gaining the title.
The Rocket League team started strong in a best of 7 matches against their opponent, The Lutheran School of San Antonio. They won the first game but failed to maintain momentum, losing 2-4 and ending the season in round 2 of playoffs. Congratulations on a great run.
The League of Legends team put up an incredible fight against the undefeated Prince of Peace High School from Carrollton Texas. The best out of 3 matches went to the third game after Vanguard dominated the second game of the night, becoming the only team to have won a game against this opponent all season. The last game of the night was an intense push but was ultimately unsuccessful.
Thank you all for supporting us through the season. I know for many, esports is hard to wrap your mind around. Have a great break and look for more exciting things out of Esports in the spring.
Rocket league lost round 2/ 2-4 but had a great season
League of Legends lost Championship 1-2 but managed to take a game away from a completely undefeated team.
Spring season is coming up.
