The Vanguard Football Team (6-2, 2-0) came away with a huge win and a District Championship Friday night by defeating Austin Hill Country (3-6, 1-1) 68-22. With an amazing crowd for Homecoming, everybody on the team contributed to one of our best games of the year. Kaden Herbert paced the offense to the tune of 338 yds rushing and 5 TDs behind the blocking of Ian Kohler, Pierce Snokhous and Jackson Davis. Kobe Thomas threw for four TDs, connecting with Davis, Carter Boehm and Elijah Wade. Logan Borg also added 80 yds rushing and a TD in the route. On the defensive side of the ball, the Vikings forced 5 turnovers by the Knights including a Fumble Recovery by Borg, an interception by Wade, and 3 interceptions by Carter Klepper. With the win, the Vikings secured a Home Field advantage for the first round of the TAPPS playoffs in two weeks. We will finish up District this week on the road as we travel to Round Rock Concordia (1-9, 0-2) Friday night. Thanks again to the cheerleaders and fans for your support! Go Vikings!
