Huge Win – Vanguard Basketball

The Varsity Boys Basketball Team completed the Academy Tournament this weekend, and walked away with the tournament championship in dramatic fashion!  On Friday, the boys lost to Mumford in a very close game to take 2nd place in their pool and move into the Championship Bracket.  In their second game Friday night in the semifinals, they beat a very good Hyde Park team to advance to the title game for another shot at Mumford on Saturday.  In that game that saw the boys fall behind a couple of times, they guys never quit one bit, forcing the game into Overtime, where they eventually defeated the #4 team in Class 2A of UIL 67-59.  Congrats to all the coaches and players on a fantastic weekend.  Come pack the gym on Tuesday night, as the JV Boys and Varsity Boys take on CTCS starting at 5:00pm in a home contest!
